(whom I always refer to as “The Commander” for this AU for some reason. IDK I feel like…maybe that’s what Elodie would have been told to call him when she was told whom she was assigned to? And of course she immediately goofs by asking his name when they had told her to refer to him only as Commander.)

Sorry but this part of Jane Eyre always gave me GoT Adoption Feels for Lady Elodie + King Astor. Especially when he makes up his mind to really try to seduce her? I can see him saying something to this effect. That she transfixes him, that she fascinates him or something? And Elodie standing there not knowing what to say because he hasn’t approached her in this way before.
Dressed more elegantly, obviously. But this is the kind of look that Astor would see in Dark Forest AU every time someone came to yank the little Princess away from the edges of the forest. Especially as she got older (since I imagine she visits for a little bit before they fully ban her?? Like maybe a year or two…what do you think?)
I like to imagine that lone figure sitting at the center as Astor for some reason. Maybe just as a contemplative Prince in GoT? IDK how much…of like the vampire kingdom’s original structure is there still. If any of it is in ruins etc. Esp since the kings rise by killing each other – there must have been battles or fights? or?

In GoT? Or AU GOT? I feel like sometimes Astor might have moments of doubting whether Elodie cares about his returning safely. Maybe not once the kids are born and such, but while they’re still feeling out each other’s sentiments? But every time he goes off to battle or something Elodie will always be like…up that night, by his bed. She might say something or do something very similar to this? Because … like… fjdsl;kajf;a SO MANY QUESTIONS.
1. I don’t really know what would happen to Elodie if Astor were to die. Would they want her to marry the next king to maintain the peace? Just send her back and cancel the treaty? Kill her?
2. Either way I ASSUME that the chances are greater that she would be fine. And that being the case she has no reason to really care about his well-being in a battle. But she does. How would Astor feel about that?
