I always imagined there being a moment where Lady Marigold’s father INFORMS her (not asks her) that he has arranged to ‘foster’ (aka sell) Astor to another lord? and it’s shortly after this that he dies. So there’s always a slight cloud of suspicion around Marigold regarding her father’s dead. WHAT TRULY HAPPENED? IDK I’M GONNA LEAVE IT UP TO YOU TEE HEE.
