This made me imagine like, idk some vampires trying to stage a coup while Astor is away on some diplomatic thing or another? Elodie and Bryce and Little M having to retreat to a tower with the people loyalty to them while a battle rages on outside between the other nobles loyal to them and the rebels? And suddenly there’s a sweep of black across the window to the tower – they don’t know who it is… until the hood lowers and it’s Astor, blood on his hands from the people he’s ripped apart and his eyes all wide, eager to see his loved ones safe.
