I’ve talked about this daydream before but this gif reminded me of it: The one where kind-of-early/middle into GoT Elodie and Astor’s marriage, they are working diligently on this or that treaty or w/e and when she’s finished what she can do she makes it a point to stay up in the room with him until he’s done? Like she could just embroider or write letters or read? But she refuses to go to bed if her husband is still up? Being Elodie she naturally falls asleep eventually, at which point Cal steps up immediately volunteering to carry her to her bed? And Astor is SUDDENLY MAGICALLY done, swoops in and picks her up before Cal can even get close. Our vampire king mumbles something about taking her to her suite himself, buuuut his feet carry him right past it and straight into his own bedchambers. Still dressed, her small shoes still on her feet, sleeping soundly he places his Queen into his bed and just stares down at her; peaceful expression, little nose wrinkle from being moved around. This marvel of a human whom he’s starting to feel care and possessiveness over, that looks SO RIGHT in his bed. Taking off her shoes with care, trying to get her tucked in under the furs without disturbing her and eventually settling down into the bed beside her – ending in an impulsive wrap of himself around her slumbering form~
