DON’T HATE ME I HAD ANOTHER AU DAYDREAM
It’s like, Pre-Aevum Astor (soldier) gets captured by Berk during the war? And instead of killing him he locks him up in a lab with other caged vamps, experiments on them and tortures them horribly. Somehow he meets Elodie, maybe they’re made to spar against one another or maybe she just pokes her head in the cells out of curiosity. He’s awful to her, per usual. But slowly/surely she visits more and more, sometimes bringing little packs of blood or other comforts. She confides in him her fears about being a malakhim, not wanting to hurt people, etc and becomes dear to him. She starts having romantic feelings for him and decides to bust him out of the labs. She manages to get the UV bars on his cage down or weakens them significantly but is suddenly caught in the act. Whoever catches her, not realizing how valuable she is, starts thrashing her and she makes no move to defend herself. Astor, watching her get beaten and kicked bursts through the weakened bars and kills the man attacking her by ripping their throat open. Probably does the same to the few more that followed the guy in, until it’s just the two of them. And he finally turns to look at her without the bars between them, bends down, picks her up and the two of them bust out of the labs – off to a happy life.
