OMG TWO POTENTIAL DAYDREAMS
Either it’s wartime King of Diamonds Astor having a nightmare about Elodie being hurt or killed and he wakes up and she’s sleeping peacefully next to him? But in his dream it was either some lower vampire he’d met that killed her or she was killed helping a particular human (servant of his?) so he goes off to kill them in order for the dream not to come true. Because he’s cray and it’s that kind of terrible logic.
OR
Like just after Queen Elodie has recovered from the drowning incident and Astor has gone back to ignoring her, he has a nightmare that she did die and wakes up startled only to find Vittoria in the bed next to him. Obvs prompting him to leave and go sneak into Elodie’s suites.
