Sometimes I picture young Astor pausing after destroying some random city or something, picking up some books. He had to acquire a love of reading somewhere, right? And then I his father finding a book hidden in his room or catching him reading it and ripping it up ala Matilda? Hnng.

I just liked this because it reminded me of the thing you wrote; him walking home as a child?
