I’ve mentioned the incident where Elodie injures Marigold to you before, but I don’t think I ever gave you full details. They seem more important now that we have the whole Astor Adoption AU, in that I wonder how Astor would react in a similar situation (minus Percy.)

In regular Aevum, shortly after being adopted and before she loses her memories? Elodie has a more minor rage that results in her hurting Marigold and possibly giving her a concussion or something. (The one she has that results in her losing her memories is way more destructive, but only breaks Marigold’s arm and knocks Percy into a wall – the destruction is more of objects.) Anyway! I often imagine that Elodie, after calming down from this initial non-memory-erasing rage, went up to an attic or something to curl up all small and cry. She hurt this lady, this kind gentle lady who took her in and gave her a pretty dress and brushed her hair gently and feels terrible about it. Back then she was actually a bit afraid of Percy, he seemed so serious and quiet. Obviously, he was furious when Elodie injured Marigold and immediately wanted to get rid of her. Like he goes to the hospital to talk to Marigold about sending Elodie away or something? Marigold wouldn’t hear of it. When he gets back home he can’t find the little malakhim girl until he hears soft sobs, which he follows up to the attic. There he finds Elodie, pitifully struggling to do up the buttons of her dress hoping to visit the Lady in the hospital and apologize. But she’s failed at doing it properly and is simply whimpering on the ground that she’s a bad creature. When Percy enters she glances up and mournfully tells him that she knows why he wants to send her away and that he’s right, she’s dangerous, she can only hurt people – that’s all she was made to do. He sees her remorse and all that and takes to heart the possibility that she is more than just the killing machine Berk wanted her to be and comforts her, beginning their good relationship. “You aren’t going anywhere.” He tells her.
