This applies to so many characters TBH? But I immediately think of either 1. Demon Hunter Marigold in Little Witch AU, telling Elodie about how she’s been sheltered for her own protection? or 2. Astor protecting …. anyone really. Like he does this. He tries to shelter the people he loves from the darkness of the world. Either Elodie in Aevum, or Little M or even Marigold in like uh…Accidental Revolution/GoT Adoption?

Her face and conviction gives me so many Marigold-talking-to-her-adopted-son-Astor feels. In GoT or regular. Especially when he’s going through growing pains and is maybe not entirely himself?
I wonder sometimes if he might feel bad, putting his mum through all this. If he might think about leaving / running away to make it easier for her. And if she were to catch him preparing or hear him say something to that effect?

I have this daydream in my head, like a notion of Lady Marigold having to go to King Percival’s court and defend before all the nobles of the land her adoptive son? Argue that he is safe and good and bright and needn’t be feared – with Percy adding at the end (slight chuckle included) “Unless they mean to harm you, my lady.”
