Soooo this gives me…sort of like, KoD Cal + Elodie + Astor feels or maybe GoT except that Elodie made no promises to Cal? The story is that Maika (the blonde girl) had to marry Kazuhito (dark hair) against her will for the good of her family. She had been secretly dating Itsuki (blonde guy) and had promised not to forget him and to escape Kazuhito ASAP but over time she came to love Kazuhito; despite the fact that he was supposed to be cruel and whatnot – because she saw the good in him. All that time, Kazuhito was living with turmoil because he “knew” his wife did’t love him but he didn’t care because he loved her and wanted her to be his pretty little bird in a cage even if she was unhappy because it was better than her being someone else’s. But at this point in the story she’s just almost died so he tells her she can leave him for Itsuki if she wants. Itsuki shows up, correctly guesses that Maika loves Kazuhito (shocking him) and watches as she runs into her husband’s arms~ 

I feel like on some level Elodie is aware she should hate Astor for what he is doing/did? But she doesn’t. And nothing can change that, not Cal or Astor’s own feelings of unworthiness. (Also: height difference)
