  • In Adoption AU? Marigold heading to work and checking her mail? And she sees the transfer notice? That she’s to move, that she can’t take any of her patients with her? And just instantly, in the few steps it takes for her to get from the entrance into the main hospital wing? She’s already made up her mind that she’s going to bring Astor with her no matter what.

  • A Fateful Discovery

  • Marigold when she finds Astor beaten on the streets? And Astor like, slowly struggling to rise up, drenched in rain and his own blood.

  • (Slightly Unrealistic) Adoption AU Daydream in which Marigold is called away on an emergency. She gets someone she trusts to watch Astor and even means to leave him a note – but has to go quickly. So when Astor wakes up, it’s to Marigold gone and a stranger in the house. He panics, thrashes around, destroys a bunch of things, basically freaks because she would never leave without telling him!!! It gets so bad that Marigold has to return home to get him to calm down. Astor is hurt that she didn’t leave him a note or a goodbye and pouts in bed, and she tearfully apologizes for frightening him.

    Alternately it could happen while he is still in the hospital. She has to take a day off and it throws his whole shift schedule out of whack, no new book to read, no yummy warm blood, no time with looser restraints. He hurts himself trying to loosen them himself. When she returns she carefully treats his wounds and apologizes, all the while Astor is unable to process the feeling of fear and loss he had when he thought she’d left him after all.

  • When she finally hugs him after he comes to her office for the first time, Post War? He just sinks in and lets himself be hugged like savoring her soft scent and how warm she is?

    Alternately: Adoption AU, Astor facing like a bad day/ Maybe there was the possibility of some law passing that would have sent him to a detention center or for study? It fails but the relief is so palpable that Marigold just holds him tight like, assuring him it’s okay. 

  • Replace the girl with Astor : /. In Aevum when she dies, Adoption AU if he finds her unconscious?

  • Young Marigold after overhearing another mom talking shit about Astor; about how vampires are too violent and confrontational to be around the “normal children?”

  • 1. Eliminate the makeup because it’s awful.
    2. Daydream of Professor Astor AU (Or Adoption I guess?) in which Marigold happens upon Astor defending himself against someone who attacked him, maybe inadvertently biting them? She hears the scuffle and heads backstage or whatever out-of-sight place there is and hears him snarling at her to get away. She asks him to please talk to her and when he reveals his face it’s all bloody?

    BUT IDK HOW LIKELY ASTOR WOULD BE TO LOSE CONTROL IN THAT WAY. To get so worked up fighting that he’d bite? Maybe if his opponent was like a shedim or another vampire who was actually giving him a hard time?
